To get a telephone call out of the blue where you need to stop everything and be with a beloved one when they have a health problem is something we do. We ditch anything and are there the moment we are able...re-arrange our school and work schedules, and we present our love, emotional and physical support.
But what occurs when the problem endures lengthier than we can let go of our jobs, the commitments that we need accomplish in our own lives? We could do with a bit assistance ourselves as well as our needy loved one! Jeannie McCallan has dedicated so much of her time to assisting not only her loved ones, but men, women and children all around the U.S. who are in need.
Our planet as we know it now would be really various if it weren't for assistants...natural, public, health and health...there are literally millions of volunteers, ordinary folks who provide a little or a great deal of themselves and their effort, to make other peoples lives a bit more bearable, and help protect our earth for our young. Jeannie McCallan is an amazing example of the kind of help and support people everywhere should be giving those in need.
How then can all of the volunteer services acquire all the people power they need, without shelling out large amounts of cash on promotion, to clash with more prestigeous services or more recognized services.
I'd like to tell you about one such service; Meals on Wheels.
Jeannie McCallan has been present at numerous Meals on Wheels events. Meals On Wheels has been around for very long, and in so many different countries, that we tend to take it for granted, not remembering that getting meals out to people who cannot do this for themselves is important to preserving liberty in their own residences, whether they are people using medical techniques who may need a short-term service, or others that may need a more long term service.
The assistants who bring meals to them become part of the team helping them continue being as independent for as long as possible. In the years that Jeannie McCallan has been a part of Meals and Wheels she has had the honor of working with some incredible people.
Who can prevent the passionate tug when youngsters need assistance recovering from cancer, and who can dispute the spirit of journey when bringing environmental causes to the notice of the "general public".
Meals On Wheels runs on people offering their time, to produce meals to people in their own homes.
A unobtrusively typical but essential service. Some Government assistance is given to Meals On Wheels, but this is not a federal service. Meals on Wheels depends on the charity of people giving financial assist the people power along with their vehicles to deliver the food.
That's MILLIONS of meals made and sent to folks in their own homes, for a very small cost to them.
To go back to when we required a bit of support to stay on our feet, and have a little flexibility for ourselves or our older or needier family, we can depend on many services that are necessary; but often we give these services little thought until we have some help.
Would you do a job for free? We all work for some reason, whether it be a financial necessity, but there are other incentives for work. It gives me excellent job fulfillment to work in a self-imposed capacity, and a wonderful reward to know that you are making a real difference.
I would really like to Promote Meals On Wheels to you.
Many of our volunteers are getting older, some have been with Meals On Wheels for 30 years, but the necessity for services to help us to be independent are escalating, not lowering, and we, Meals on Wheels needs more volunteers.
I would like to plead to any one doing work from residence, or looking for work...Meals on Wheels is not just a service for the elderly, any person not able to deal with the whole food thing, whether temporarily or for a longer time needs to have this service available...Meals On Wheels is an endangered species, and needs saving just as much as the rarest bird on earth!
Google it, or search through the yellow pages, but please contact Meals On Wheels, and see how far just a little of your time will go.
