You've taken the time and courage to trek on over to your local computer hardware store, you've purchased the components you need, got back home and laid your boxes of hardware components on the floor. However you're in a tight hole as you have no idea where to go from there.

Well you can settle yourself down, cool your body, wipe the sweat from off your forehead and relax. Here are the steps that you should take.

It's important that you create enough space in your room so that you can strategically position all the components you need in there and still have enough room to move around.

For best practice it's important that you cover the floors that you're working on with newspapers or something of similar material, in order to avoid damaging any of the components you've purchased. You should also consider acquiring a good source of light, so that you are able to see what you're doing at all time.

In order for you to start putting your new system together, you must have all the most important components. The best place to start is with your receipt, by looking through it, you should be able to determine what you have and what you don't have, it's important that you follow through with this process as mistakes are very common. Once you've done this, next, you should organise your components on your floor.

Your components should be handled with care, make sure you do not drop any of them while they are in your hand. Your components are typically designed to withstand a high fall, however, that doesn't mean you should abuse your component nor is it any guarantee your component would survive such a fall. If you want to store your components away, then it's important that you opt for anti-static plastics, as static energy is capable of destroying your hardware.

Once you've got everything in order, your last step is to pick up your screwdriver and manual and get the ball rolling.
