FFL or Federal Firearm License is the license that allows or enables an individual or organisation to engage in the manufacture or sale of firearms at an interstate or intrastate level. There are a couple of federal firearm license requirements that one needs to know when making an FFL application.

There are several categories of FFLs. The classes range from the basic dealer or gunsmith, to importers of high explosives. Depending on the type of trade you want to engage in, and at what level you want to get into the trade, you need to make an FFL application.

So, what are the Federal Firearm License requirements for one to obtain an FFL? Before taking out an FFL application, one has to satisfy the following Federal Firearm License requirements;
Be 21 years and older
Not be prohibited from handling or possessing firearms or ammunition
You have not violated the Gun Control Act or its regulations
You have not failed to disclose information or facts in connection with his application
You have premises for conducting the business or collecting

In addition to this, anyone carrying out an FFL application must also certify that:
The business to be conducted under the license is not prohibited by State or local law in the place where the licensed premise is located.
Within 30 days after the application is approved the business will comply with the requirements of State and local law applicable to the conduct of the business.
The business will not be conducted under the license until the requirements of State and local law applicable to the business have been met.
The applicant has sent or delivered a form to the chief law enforcement officer where the premises are located notifying the officer that the applicant intends to apply for a license.
Secure gun storage and safety devices will be available at any place in which firearms are sold under the license to persons who are not licensees.
These are the Federal Firearm License requirements for one carrying out an FFL application. Once one has met these criteria, it would be wise to consult someone who has recently passed an FFL application for advice. This will make it much easier for you to obtain your own FFL.
