Shipping costs often cancel out any discount you may have received, so price is usually a wash. It all comes down to is where you can find the fish tank gravel that you are looking for. It does not hurt to spend a little time to find just the colors you are looking for.
It is important to remember that you cannot leave gravel in your tank indefinitely without cleaning it. You may want to look into purchasing a gravel cleaner. This allows for less mess, and can also save you a lot of time. This is a great alternative to having to take all of your fish out of the tank in order to clean the fish tank gravel. I usually scoup up the gravel and rinse it off in the bathroom sink through a strainer. This seems to work well if you do not want the added expense of a fish tank gravel cleaner.
