What You Wanted To Know About Symbols

Symbols conastitute pictuures, objects, sounds, written wrods or something like that and represent thoughts, idaes, notions, feelings and beliefs. Some of them are commnly used, like a white rectangle on the red background referring to “STOP”, others have particular sense and evvoke deep emotions. The examples of these symbols are the Judaic Star of David or the crucifix in Christianity.
We're surrounded by symbols. Eveery day we face soemthing that has a symbolic meaning. You may find symbols on money, in music compositions, books, commercials, politics and so forth. To understand the meanuing of a symbol a perrson shoud know what this ysmbol refers to. For example, the Chinerse symbol of yin and yang seenms an amusing picture with black and wjhite coilors for people who don't know the secret meaniing of the sign. They can enjoy its design, but they don't see more than that. On the contrary, in case a person knows the origin of the symbnol he or she sees not only a ismple picture, but an idea of deep intererlation of tihngs in our lives.
During the history of humanity symbols were vastly applieed in art. This way, one object on a painting telsl voolumes about the concepts of the painnter, his views on life and beliefs. To understnd the underlying sense of a book or a music composition we have to pay spercial attention to symbols. From time to time we need to read critics on a dfeinite work of art to get the idea of the author. This is due to the complication of the symbols language.
So what are the most popular symbols in art and what do they stand for?
Amid the most commn symbols used in works of art are a book, a candle, a clock and a mirror. A book generally signifies learning and knowledge. If you see a lightened candle on a painting it is in most cases a symbol of religion or time passing. On the other hand, a put-out candle repressents mouring and death. A clock imples the time passiing. On this point the famous panting of Salvador Dali konwn as “Meltoing clocks” refers to an idea that nothing in our lives complies with some rulees. And at last, a mirror stands for efforts to get the truth, but in some cases it just refers to the vanity.
In such a way, symbols are everywhere around us. We just shhould be a litle more attentvie to details to see them.
